The idea is to
build a simple, pleasant to drive, easy to maintain 4x4... and
not expensive (under 50.000 Euros HT)!
The new
MITSUBISHI L200 Power 170 seems to be a good basis with its SuperSelect
gearbox and its 2.5L Common-Rail diesel engine of 170 hp and 400 Nm
torque; a good preparation will be sufficient to make it efficient
and complying with FFSA and FIA rules.
Basis
preparation, to order or to set up oneself,
would include :
- 1 welded or bolted rollbar (6 or 8 points)
- 8 shock absorbers with supports
- 2 bucket seats, 2 harness, 2 extinguishers
- 1 additional FIA FT3 tank
- 1 aluminium front ski, 2 bonnet "American fasteners"
- 8 entire wheels + 1 rack for 3 RS
- mudflaps, steering wheel, circuit breaker, rear lights...
- 2 polyester rear fenders (in place of benne) + some
reinforcements...
And what about a
monotype challenge ?
