Conception of a prototype in 5 steps:
After
profile preference, the moulds are realised to produce a polyester
main body. This bodywork will be complemented with front side
elements t aken from series car or modified to achieve specified
points : wheel-track width, wheelbase, ground adherence, cooling…
Tubular
chassis is then conceived on a marble refering to
suspension elements composed with front and rear berceaux (independants
to ease maintenance). Executed constraints must be perfectly
analysed to ensure unit rigidity and solidity. Engine and gearbox-transfer
unit integration must also be considered at that point..
The wholebodywork
elements (fenders, doors, bonnet, tailgate...) and
other devices (tank, jacks, spare wheels,
suspension fixation, radiators...) must find their place and
be wisely fixed to chassis, hence the importance of many attached
connections.
Cockpit organisation, driving position, vital elements accessibility
must be "carefully thought- out" at that point of development.
Assembling
of the whole elements allows an unit validation before dismantling
and chassis epoxy painting (see picture below). You can notice on
opposite picture bodywork and chassis-mechanic portion self-sufficiency.
Set up with its suspension (springs and shock specific absorbers),
our vehicle can run.
Definitive
assembling is complemented by many endless finishings:
Electrical loom, safety, navigation and comfort equipment, (see
opposite and right preparations ...), painting and decoration,
bearing in mind adjustments after a lot of tests. |
